Project Objective
Analyze occupant satisfaction trends and patterns in K-12 schools, through the use of the CBE's Occupant Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Survey. Through collecting a large sample of projects, we hope to conduct research in a variety of areas of occupant comfort.
Getting Involved with the Study
Thanks for your interest in participating in the CBE K-12 Schools Research Project. On this page, you'll find basic information about the survey and our research. If you'd like to go ahead and sign up to participate, you can follow the link below to our sign-up form.
How to Start
If you would like to sign up, please first confirm:
Your ability to contact teachers via a superintendent, principal or other direct supervisor, via email.
Your commitment to provide the information listed in the building characteristics form, for each building that you would like to survey, to the best of your ability.
That the school(s) you would like to survey are K-12 schools (no childcare or universities) within the US or Canada that were fully occupied during the ‘07-‘08 school year.
The Survey Process
Free surveys for all qualified K-12 schools will take place over the fall/winter of 2008. The deadline for applying is March 1st, 2009. To find out details on confidentiality, roles/responsibilities, etc., please download the information packet. Please note that no contract is needed for this process, but we do need a good-faith commitment from you to participate according to the guidelines we've set out.
Demo Survey
If you would like to run through a demo version of the survey that would be run in your school, please follow the link below. Very few changes can be made to this standard "core" survey, for the purposes of this study. K-12 Schools Demo Survey
Survey Results
When your survey is completed and you have completed the building characteristics form, CBE will send you a link to your building's Scorecard, which contains all of the results from your building's survey.
