CBE uses full-scale laboratories and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to test, model, and analyze the performance of UFAD plenums and room air stratification.

Key Topics
This section discusses the characteristics of underfloor systems in terms of the issues that are fundamental to the design of any HVAC system, including thermal comfort and system benefits that may result from successful integration of UFAD systems.

For more detailed information on UFAD system performance and related issues, check out CBE's series of publications representing the results of research, field studies and controlled experiments carried out by CBE's team of researchers.

In addition, consult the extensive bibliography of papers related to Underfloor Air Distribution and Task/Ambient Conditioning systems. This extensive list covers publications authored by CBE staff, other research institutions, practitioners, and by building industry experts.
