Awarded annually since 2007, the Livable Buildings Awards recognize projects that demonstrate excellence in architecture, sustainability and occupant satisfaction.
UC Berkeley’s Center for the Built Environment has awarded the 2025 Livable Building Award for SmithGroup’s Detroit Office, a renovation and consolidation of the firm’s global headquarters that created a modern living laboratory for agile workplace design. The awards this year also include Honorable Mentions for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Headquarters Office in Washington, D.C., and the Accenture Innovation Hub at One Manhattan West, New York City. All candidate projects must qualify by meeting benchmarks for user satisfaction as measured by the CBE Occupant Survey.
