This spring, Clark Pacific became the newest member to join CBE’s industry consortium, and will soon become our newest R&D affiliate. As we announced at April’s CBE virtual advisory board meeting, Clark Pacific will be collaborating with CBE’s research team to advance the development of an innovative precast system that incorporates hydronic radiant heating and cooling, and low-carbon concrete mixes, which has been dubbed the NetZERO Building PlatformThe R&D team also includes industry partner Integral Group, and we will share more information on this work in upcoming Centerline posts upon its start.

Clark Pacific’s primary liaison to CBE is Jon Mohle, a Product and Market Manager who has led the development of the NetZERO platform. “We value this partnership with CBE. They bring expertise on controls, operation and measurement of radiant systems, which complements our expertise in engineering, manufacturing and construction,” he says.

As CBE’s only prefabricated building member, Clark Pacific will bring valuable new perspectives to guide and inform the development of CBE’s research portfolio. For example, the firm installed over 2.5 million square feet of radiant floor systems, which were integrated and fully tested during manufacturing. The firm serves clients throughout California and the West Coast, offering three primary product lines: facades, parking structures, and structural systems.

The company’s portfolio spans numerous markets, with offices, higher education, healthcare, civic, residential, retail and others. Noteworthy projects include the $2.5B Mission Rock project currently under construction in San Francisco, and the 2.8M square feet Apple Park Office Building, completed in 2016, for which Clark Pacific provided the architectural and structural precast concrete components.

The firm has also completed projects for many CBE industry partners, including KierenTimberlake’s UCSF Tidelands Student Housing, SmithGroup’s Mission Bernal Campus Hospital, Genentech’s CCP2 Buildings 2-3, Perkins+Will’s ZO-1700 Webster, and LPA’s CSU East Bay Warren Hall. With relationships with these and other CBE industry partners, Clark Pacific is well positioned to become a valuable member of the consortium, and we look forward to benefiting from their support, insight and leadership.
